First Day of School

Okay, so I know I’m only 2+ months late on this, but better late than never! These are some pictures from Ryan’s first day of kindergarten. He loves school and we love his teachers. He does so many neat things and is excited and interested in learning. He loves to recreate the things he has made/done in class at home every evening. He talks about his classmates and teachers. He is learning lots- his reading is taking off and he continues to excel in numbers/patterns.

My little superhero :)

Enjoying some watermelon. Notice the flowers on the table... I accidentally let some of the broccoli plants in my garden flower and Ryan was mortified that I was just going to throw them out. He had to go in and get a cup of water for them then place them on his table.

Baseball Game

Brian has one of those vintage handheld baseball games that he had when he was a kid. Ryan recently discovered it and has really loved playing on it.

First sleepover

In January Ryan had his first sleepover at our neighbors house. We set up a tent upstairs and the kids got to sleep there all night (well, the two boys lasted all night...their daughter slept in her own bed). He had a blast and still talks about what fun it was.

Christmas

Here are a couple of Christmas videos (yes...posted in March! ;) )

Ryan's Birthday

When Ryan was around 2 he asked about chewing gum and drinking soda. I told him that he needed to wait until he was 5....it just seemed so far away at the time. And yet all of a sudden, my little boy is 5!

So yesterday was the big day for gum and soda...and they were both a bust. I bought him 5 brand gum (which through the years has validated my rule every time he saw the package- haha!). I knew he wouldn't like mint gum so I got him berry flavored. I took out a stick for him and he said he didn't want to chew gum. I tried to persuade him to try it...we looked at it, smelled it, and I even tasted one (blech...not a fan of berry flavored gum!) He said he wanted to wait until he was six to try gum. We'll see if he changes his mind...

The soda was also a bust. He took a little sip and gave the funniest face (picture)...he said it was too "spicy".

(Poor boy...it must have felt like a let down after waiting his whole life ;) ).

I made a doggie cake for my little doggie lover.

I love this boy so much!! :)

Professional Pictures

Granny, Ryan and I went on our annual trip to Portrait Innovations yesterday (highly recommend them!). I love that they never put up any fuss about any outfit changes (we usually do 4 since we do birthday and Christmas pictures all rolled in one) and they are willing to do whatever ideas we have.

Counting

Ryan counting to 100 by 5's and by 10's. Excuse the silliness...it was a long day apparently! ;)
