Professional Pictures

Granny, Ryan and I went on our annual trip to Portrait Innovations yesterday (highly recommend them!). I love that they never put up any fuss about any outfit changes (we usually do 4 since we do birthday and Christmas pictures all rolled in one) and they are willing to do whatever ideas we have.

Counting

Ryan counting to 100 by 5's and by 10's. Excuse the silliness...it was a long day apparently! ;)

States

I don't know what it is...just being a kid I guess...but Ryan seems to latch on to a topic and become almost obsessed with it. For a long time it was flags, then Titanic, and now it seems to be states. I know they talk about the different states at preschool, but he amazes me how many states he has learned. Oh, and again, please excuse the extreme silliness! ;)

Mr. Cute Stuff

Ryan and his chicka chicka boom boom hat.

First day of preschool (again)

Ryan started his second year of preschool in August. He now goes Monday-Thursday from 9-1. He loves, loves, loves school. Such a social guy...and I'm sure he totally talks his teacher's ears off. ;) Here are some pictures of his first day...

How To Torture Your Child

How to torture your child....

Step 1: Make your child talk about the fun he is having on the slide when he is FREEZING COLD!

Step 2: Take a picture of your child losing his trunks instead of rushing to fix them first. ;)

Last Swimming Lesson

Last night was Ryan's last swimming lesson for the summer...he has come a long way this summer- he's not only comfortable in the water, but he really enjoys his time too.

Misc.

In the course of unpacking, I was going through all the hats, gloves, mittens, etc. Ryan insisted that he was SO COLD before we left for swimming lessons (yes, the temperature has been in the mid-90's in ABQ!). So what's a mom to do but let her little guy wear swim trucks, mittens and a knit hat- haha!

Thanks for the SuperSoaker, Granny (sarcasm from Mommy's voice...pure delight from Ryan's) ;)

As most of you know, Ryan has become quite the neighborhood watchdog. At our old house, there were only two windows you could really see the front and one had a bush taller than Ryan. Now his bedroom faces the street and he can sit on his bed (and sit on the couch in the loft) and look at the window. We get frequent reports on which neighbors are home, who has gone to the grocery store, who is out of town, etc. He will sit for extended periods of time just checking out the neighborhood!
