SNOW!

We got our first real snow Monday night. Ryan was so excited to go 'sledding.' We've read a few books where the kids go sledding and he knew we had one in the garage. The only problem is that NM snow usually melts by 1o or 11...so these might be the most pathetic snow pictures for those of you that live somewhere where you get actual snow! ;) (Try not to focus on the lack of snow, but on the abundance of cuteness- haha!) Anyway, we bundled Ryan up and took him to the park and then to the arroyo where we could pull him. Then we went back to the park and had a one-sided snowball fight (guess who was the only one allowed to throw snowballs- haha!).

Spontaneuous photo shoot

After our visit with Santa we went out for breakfast and then took a walk near the river. Ryan was having the best time and we got some great pictures (makes up for the not-so-great Santa pictures I guess).

Anyone good at photoshopping and can fix his eyes??? (hint, hint Aunt Debbie)

Visiting Santa

We took Ryan to see Santa this morning (AKA Brian's best friend...shhhhhhh!). Ryan has been wanting a computer (little kids laptop) for a while and that is what he was going to ask Santa to bring him. I would say the visit was a partial success...he didn't cry, but we didn't get fabulous pictures.

Here is the video we took driving home from seeing Santa.

One of my favorite things is listening to Ryan read when he doesn't realize you are listening. He just has the sweetest voice and the words/phrases he remembers from each page are so precious to me. Anyway, lately he has been reading Love You Forever by Robert Munsch (must have book!). I was able to bribe him to read for me on tape, although he skipped many of the pages he usually "reads". Still...his sweet little voice is one of the best sounds in the world to me.

Look how much our sweet boy has changed in three short years! And how much OUR life has changed. I could never have imagined what a wonderful journey parenthood has been. We are so blessed with this precious child and I can't wait to see what the next three years brings us!

Christmas Tree

We went yesterday to get our Christmas tree. Ryan loves to talk about all the ornaments and just sit and look at it.

I want my "river" Mama!

So for about a month now, Ryan has been asking for me to make him a river every night before he goes to bed. It took a couple of days to figure out what the heck he was talking about, but through some trial and errors I finally discovered that his kind of river is created by pulling up his comforter to make little mountain ranges. And now one river isn't quite enough so we have gone to making two. Such a silly boy, but such a good boy too...I can't help but buy into his whole river thing. ;) Notice the two "rivers" in the picture.

Piano playing

A couple of weeks ago, I pulled out the keyboard I had bought for Brian many Christmas's ago. Ryan LOVES it! He probably plays for an hour every day. It has some pre-recorded songs that he loves to listen and dance to. And he has even named some of the songs (although we rarely are able to make the connection to why he names them what he does!)

Zoo Boo

We took Ryan to the Zoo Boo last weekend. He had a great time. There was one booth where the kids had to try to eat an apple off the string without using their hands...Ryan didn't quite get the "not using your hands" rule- haha!
